I think there’s a place for discipline, for structure, for drills and working through the difficult days one finds when building a new skill.
At trackdays here I often hear “We’re just here to have fun.” That’s great, but diligence and discipline in pursuit of a goal have their places and value too. I want to be a silky smooth trackrider when I’m 70.
When in the inevitable difficult conversations with family about track riding, it helps me to have your messages on methodicality, discipline and science to share with them, as indication of my approach to the craft.
