CALL :: Lessons learned from The Shenandoah Circuit at Summit Point Raceway

======================================================
After Action Review:
put your big toes on the sharp end of the pegs
put your tits on the gas cap
everything should take one second, throttle down, not chop; braking;
dance on the bike; it’s a ballet

throttle / gearing

* per Dylan, I listened to my throttle note
* paid attn to smooth throttle out of apex
* early on was downshifting too far, in 2nd gear snatchy when i shoulda stayed in 3rd gear
* rode too long w sticky throttle til Greg helped me fix it
* some nervy moments bc o sticky throttle, throttle locked on
* used throttle in chicane to control lean
* followed Jen/Marcello, very slow, to work on smooth throttle regardless o speed
* opened it wide open, cowl-under, on approach to Bridge / Bus Stop and on the back straight
* bounced off revlimiter on back straight o/a 14.2k rpm

suspension

* assessed suspension compression upon exiting the Karoussel
* 30# front, 29# rear

lines

* followed Jen’s lines religiously, esp the late apexes
* enjoyed Jen’s line on curve between Chicane and the Bridge, late apex to 3″ outside the dashed lines, then cross the lines towards the apex
* couple times , too aggressv on the Karoussel
* bike setup before green white rumble strips approach PitInPitOut

reference, sighting

* did best job ever of identifying, following, sizing up
* Xs in boxes, Diamonds, red dirt smears, seams in pavement
* tar sealant patches
* red dirt smear approaching The Hook, approaching The Karoussel
* missed the cone marking the mud puddle

cornering

* had a few good laps making one smooth curve out of PitInPit-Out
* early on, felt the ballet moves across the seat at crest after The Karoussel

track walk

* discovered the scary off camber transition at the Corkscrew that drops off at the tarmac seam
* never do that barefoot again
* gotta git a slimjim

bod pos

* Sunday, early, all knees akimbo, wrong direction, sticking out right knee on lefthander
* 3d session or so, the left knee finally locked in against gas tank on Corkscrew righthander, enabled much tighter line
* got back some of my bombsight, tits on tank, mirror-head aggressv pos
* enjoyed the Ben Spies assholes & elbows pos, helpful to relax arm pump
* on exit 3-abreast from Karoussel, periph vision, helmet head nod
* scraped hard parts early sessions
